Right Off the Track

I so love street style mainly because it defines cool and comfy. Owning this kind of look on certain days makes me feel like I have this other persona which I find really interesting. Also, street looks are much easier to put on!

image

Shirt, Mental; Trousers, Oxygen;

This outfit could not be more than inspired by “in the hood” hits. HAH! Whenever I go out with this kind of look I just literally feel like showing off some moves…even if I don’t know any.

image

I definitely love the top, it literally looks rugged and adventurous!

Cap, Rebel Gear

image

Wrist band, Rebel Gear

Added some kick to the outfit by incorporating candy colors with the cap and wrist band.

Pink shoelaces are love!

Discoverer from Dusk

Hello world! August had like tons of holidays so I was very happy because I got to spend time with my favorite people and of course we all know that going out entails putting on outfits right? Sharing a look that has been inspired by baroque details and classic movies.

image

Blazer, Bryce; Shirt, Folded and Hung; Palazzo Pants, Landmark Dept. Store;

image

image

Gladiator sandals, The Ramp Crossings

Same with other flowy pieces that do not really make you look wide, I am really loving palazzo pants. Add to that the fact that they’re very much comfortable to wear.

Love love love the printed details of this blazer.

Till the next post!

Let Alone Gravity

HELLO! I finally got to blog again after two months? Crap. I miss blogging, to say the least! I have been posting some outfit shots on my IG though.

Outfit’s totally dedicated to the amazing Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Inferno Arc movie. AHHH FEELS, FEELS! The movie’s really awesome, it captured important details from the anime series. I can’t wait for The Legend Ends/ Part 3! Blog title’s influenced by the OST: Mighty Long Fall by One Ok Rock. I love the song and it totally speaks for like, my life in general right now. Seriously!

Kimono cover-up and Palazzo Trousers, Eastwood Bazaar; Black knit top, Forever 21;

The color palette is a dead giveaway for the inspiration of this outfit. I have always been a fan of Kenshin Himura since I was little. I remember seeing it first on a local channel and back then it used to be aired every Sunday evening. Because the next day would be the beginning of another week in school, I would at times find myself sneaking out to the living room to watch an episode right before going to sleep. HAH! Kenshin’s character and situation in the series is something to be admired of, in the sense that he continues to use his skills to protect people - among other right reasons - and vowing not to kill again.

image

I love the outfit for being so chill! It’s totally one perfect hangout wear. Also, the black-red-white combo is one my greatest favorites!

image

Sunglasses, Sunnies Studios;

Finally owned a pair that looks so badass. Love love love its sheer design!

image

For this outfit, I must say that I have put on the “kindest” textures in all of fabric types. Haha. They feel so gentle to the skin! Well maybe that’s just me being weird… as per usual.

Mandals, Greenhills Bazaar;

LSS while looking at this photo: Chandelier by Sia! “I’m gonna flyyyy like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dryyy”. HAHA. Love that song! So inspirational?

Met with my favorite people after a long four months. WOW, I just realized it was that long. There was really a lot of catching up but nonetheless we all stayed the same crazy souls we were.

image

From left to right: Shine, Me, Marmi

They were the ones I watched RRK Kyoto Inferno with. We were totally getting paranoid and all last week as we waited for the pre-selling of tickets. I’ve actually gone over-analyzing on things: since the movie arrangement’s free-seating, it is most likely the case that everybody’s gonna line up early to be seated on the most desirable areas. Add to that the fact that August 21 is a National Holiday - which succeeds the first day of screening of the movie so like intutively, others may prefer to just watch on the 21st instead! Good thing we didn’t have to line up because we were “fashionably late”. HAHA! I think we arrived two minutes before the start of the movie but holla, we still got good seats!

To end this post, I’d like to share our most epic shot yet. And yes, that’s me in the middle, channeling my inner Nora Aunor as I say the glorified line: “WALANG HIMALA!” (“There is no miracle!”).

Till the next post!

Rough for the Street

image

RARELY do I dress up like this but I have to admit, I also have a penchant towards this kind of get up. I guess I’m just really inspired by kpop (CAN I JUST SHARE THAT I’ve been so hooked to EXO’s Overdose for a couple of weeks now). As the title suggests, this outfit’s “rough” for me but I do like it because it shouts street style which is one of my favorite inspirations.

image

Jersey, Bench; Acid wash jeans, Forever 21 MEN; Plaid shirt, People are People;

Wore this to a Saturdate with friends I met in my previous stint at work. I was the most worried when it drizzled in the afternoon because it would have totally ruined everything if we weren’t able to take photos (especially outfit shots HAHA) out in the open.

I’m definitely showing my “experimental” side for this look. Basically I did grunge styling with hints of school boy elements. Also, I made sure that the gold and red accents in the outfit would stand out to make the attitude of the look stronger and edgy.

image

image

Cap, The Ramp Crossings

I was actually thinking of wearing a thick gold chain necklace with this outfit but I figured it would be way too overboard so I decided to put on this cap instead. And yes, it’s really cool.

image

Wearing this outfit made me realize that it’s fun to be so laid back. Wish I could put on this kind of look more often.

image

image

Bag, Rebel Gear

Love how the bag has that punk vibe in it. It goes along well with the plaid shirt too in my opinion.

image

image

Sneakers, Bench;

Would you believe that I bought this pair using my accumulated points in my mobile network? It’s that affordable! It only goes to show that you don’t really have to spend much to get a stylish pair of sneakers.

From left to right: Ate Cherish a.k.a. “The Wife”, Sweet a.k.a. “The Sweet” and Crystal a.k.a. “The Queen B”

So they’re the ones I met up with last Saturday…and I have to say that I REALLY MISSED THEM BIG TIME. I used to work with them when I was still assigned in Makati last year. As much as I wish I’m still working with them everyday, I know they’re all happy in their own endeavors now - and that makes me happy as well. What’s really fulfilling to think about now is that in my relatively short stint in Makati, I have found friends in these girls.

Okay before this gets any cheesier, let me share now the reasons behind the a.k.a’s. So, we came up with names to call each other just because we think we kind of resemble the characters of some certain hit series. And because we’re a bunch of cam-holics, we’d decided the title of our own story to be named as "Pics and the City". HAHA.

Our reasons are quite simple though - Ate (sis) Cherish is called “The Wife” because she’s married, Sweet (Jessica’s actually her name) is called “The Sweet” (don’t really need to explain anything here haha) and Crystal is called “The Queen B” because B could really mean a lot of things and only us four know what it means and why. HAHA. As for what I’m called, only my friends on Facebook could probably figure out.

image

So happy to see Sweet again! I’ve always told her that I am so proud of her for pursuing what she really loves to do and Sweet, if you’re reading this, I wish you all the best!

Our lovely stylista friend is definitely a determined person for being able to establish her own business - Bunnyrella. The clutch she’s holding in the shot above is actually handmade by her. Awesome right?

It was totally a day full of fun and catching up with each other. I actually heard a lot of new and juicy buzz from the girls. HAHA.

image

Yay for Japanese food.

image

image

As I’ve mentioned earlier, we’re such cam-holics and I really love the fact that we can take pictures of each other anytime. Perhaps that’s one of the strongest reasons why we’re friends? HAHA.

I so want to meet them again soon! Hope our plans for the next Saturdates will push through!
